Paperwork is getting in the way of better lives and better policy. 

People take it as a given that accessing government services comes with inconvenient process and paperwork. We pay a “time tax” to get services and supports. But this time tax is not just inconvenient and frustrating- it is regressive and wasteful, acting as a barrier between public services and the people they are supposed to help.

We think we can do better. This series of articles spotlights the time tax in Canada, the harms it causes and potential solutions.
